Greater Egg Harbor Ospreys Boys Lacrosse

About Us

Lacrosse is a fun, fast paced sport that takes place in the spring. Anyone can play lacrosse. It is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.

Greater Egg Harbor Lacrosse participates in the JSYLL, which is a travel league on the Jersey Shore. We play against neighboring towns such as Egg Harbor Township, Absecon, Margate, Middle, Lower & Upper Townships. Practice begins in late February and continues into the spring. Most games are on Saturdays and played round robin, so each team plays two games. There may be weeks where a game is played on a weekday night, but on those nights each team will only play one game.

We have boys K-2nd grade team, 3rd/4th grade team, 5th/6th grade team and 7th/8th grade team.

The NCAA released a study that revealed the blistering rate at which college lacrosse is growing in popularity. While the rate did slow due to the pandemic, Lacrosse is still recruiting more new athletes and fans than any other sport.
